Even in the rain the zoo was fun and crowded. One panda was hanging out on his gym thing out side. This monkey and G had a staring contest, too funny. This little tortoise was trying to escape his glass enclosure to get out into the rain for some relief from the bright lights of the tourist trap, heh.
G wanted to go to the parakeet pavillion which we did and paid our dollar for the priviledge of feeding birds. I managed to get two to this stick for G. G even took some pics of me holding the birds.
Then the polar bear interacted with G and other children. Look how the bear is looking at G.

We were early to the zoo yesterday getting there before opening. But we had a great day there. We met an FCC family from our town. G even rode the merry-go-round by herself. She even got down from the horse by herself. Now in all honesty, she probably could have done that a long time before now but riding with her grandad is also a special memory for her too.
These pictures of the circus have a wonderful story behind them. This is a working circus carved by one man Park's Circus. It is a miniature circus that is very old. Most of the pieces work as they should while some need to be fixed. One thing I noticed because I am becoming more race aware especially when G is with me, the audience in the carving is split. White audience members are on the largest side looking directly at the center ring. The end has all of the black audience members, segregated. It made me sad when I realized it. I had seen this as a child and then being somewhat colorblind I didn't even notice. This time I did. Still it is a feat to behold that someone would take that amount of time to carve a circus down to the tent where the circus workers/performers would eat.
